Commission Process

Each commission is a chance to create something deeply personal and unique just for you. Whether it’s inspired by a feeling, a place, or you want something slightly different to something I have done before, I work closely with you to bring that vision to life. Every piece is made with care, intention, and attention to detail, resulting in artwork that feels truly your own.

1. Start with Size.

For residential walls, four popular sizes that make a big impact but still fit comfortably in most spaces are:

76.2 x 91.4 cm (30 x 36”)

76 x 100 cm (30 x 40”)

91.4 x 91.4 cm (36 x 36”)

91 x 122 cm (36 x 48”)

These are standard canvas sizes I can source easily, which helps keep costs affordable. However, if you have a specific size in mind, I can also arrange a custom canvas — just let me know your preferred dimensions and I can provide a quote.

2. Inspiration

To get things moving, I usually ask you to share 2–3 of my pieces that you’re most drawn to. These don’t need to match — just anything that resonates with you. This helps me understand the overall energy, colour palette, and mood you’re imagining. If there are particular details you connect with — such as textures, brushstrokes, or colour combinations — feel free to send through a few screenshots or close-ups. The more visual references I have, the better I can capture what you’re after.

3. Capturing what Inspires You

When thinking about your painting commission, is there anything that comes to mind that feels uniquely you? This could be a feeling, a memory, a place, or even a colour that holds meaning or inspiration for you.

To help guide your ideas, you might like to consider:

Mood or energy: Do you imagine something calm and grounding, or vibrant and full of movement?

Personal moments or inspirations: Are there particular memories, places, or experiences that you’d like captured in some way?

Symbolism: Are there colours, shapes, or natural elements (like flowers, landscapes, or animals) that feel significant to you? Perhaps there’s an object or detail from your home that you’d love to see reflected in the artwork.

Tone or style: Do you envision something soft and subtle, or bold and expressive?

4. Timelines

Please allow up to 8-10 weeks for your commission from the date your deposit is received. Depending on the size of the piece and my current schedule, I may be able to complete it sooner. I take care not to rush the process — each artwork is created with intention, attention, and care.

5. Payment and Updates

I request a 50% deposit to begin. The remaining 50% is payable only once you’re happy with the finished piece. I’ll keep you updated along the way with progress photos and check-ins so you feel informed and involved throughout the process, and we can work together to make changes if needed as we go

When your artwork is complete, I’ll send through the final images for your approval. The remaining balance is then due before delivery.
