This piece was a return to an older style I hadn’t explored in a while, using harsh, bristled brushes and thick, expressive strokes. I layered acrylic paint with impasto, pencils, Posca pens, and a touch of oil pastels, which was especially fun to work with for added texture and depth.

“Offshore” is my first nautical-inspired painting, which feels long overdue considering I’ve been sailing since I was 8. It was a refreshing creative shift, and I really enjoyed the process of bringing this piece to life.
